IDK my last vehicle you could adjust the light height from inside.

Yeah, but that's a nice built in feature with motors, servos and electronics. Anything is possible depending on your checkbook, but I think that would be a bit overkill for us.

For the cost of doing something like that -- you could just get some LED's that blind people like I have.

Projector retrofits are definitely the way to go if you want to improve the stock headlights. Vastly better spread and cutoff than doing a HID bulb in the stock reflector. And from what I've read, most of the complete projector (non hid) headlight replacements have crappy lenses, and are actually worse than the stock headlights!

Retrofitting in decent quality HID projector lenses, bulbs, ballasts seems like the best solution.

There's a HID projector retrofit kit group buy going on right now for F150 owners. 25% discount if we get 25 or more kits ordered.

This is a do-it-yourself deal, but with the latest kits, it seems much easier than the old methods of retrofitting. Little or no dremel work, adapter plates that line things up. Still have top split your headlight shells with some heat though.

I have no personal affiliation with the retrofit source. Discount code is F15025 (case sensitive), more details here.

Here's an idea what retrofitted F150/Raptor headlights look like:

Different style trim rings are available, and some paint their reflector lenses black...

These lights were done by a custom retrofitter, but at about $1,000 a pop for the custom guys (vs. $220 or so DIY), I'm going to give it a try myself.

Hey man, I put the Morimoto mini H1 in mine but that was for a recon headlight, pretty sure it will still work for stock. Im painting the faceplate right now and doing a mock up, will have a write up on the install out tomorrow.

If your retrofitting the stock headlights call TRS and talk to Matt, the guy knows everything about retrofits. Basically you want something thats end fits through the H13 bulb opening of our stock headlights and a shroud that will work with it. You may have to do some cutting to get it to fit.

The one in the pic above was done by pro's, looks like they custom made a piece to fit between the headlight and the shroud.

The stock Raptor lights are the same as regular F150 lights... The FX4, Harley, and Raptors come with black trim instead of chrome, but otherwise the same.

The easiest kit to install is going to be the MH1 kit. Group buy discount at TRS is good through Aug 15th

Bit of a delay on my project. Mounted the base and flipped them on to start aiming and noticed some smoke starting were the bulb contacts the projector, when I put the bulbs in they went in a little tight. TRS is closed on the weekends so I cant call but after doing some reading I noticed they recommend 35w bulbs, Im running 55w. Ordered 35w bulb and ballast 2nd day air so hopefully up and running mid next week.

They turned out pretty sweet though. I color matched the face plate, tux black. New ccfl's and led's and threw some side emitting led's in. Stay tuned...

Thanks pfbz, used the discount code and saved 45 bucks on the bulb/ballast. :waytogo:
