Is it running? When you get out of the truck with the keys and it's running it honks to let you know that it's running.

no that is the double honk thing. i disabled it via forscan.
it happens if you leave it on and leave with the keys.
there is an auto relock option also with forscan.

if you are interested in a list of what i recommend for forscan let me know. i even have a quick program list for it.

lol the only one they may notice is the start/stop disable.

Auto Start/Stop Disable
Autofold Mirrors - Lincoln Style (see desc in Notes)
Double Horn Honk disable
Fake engine noise disable
Secure Idle enable
Panic Alarm
Stereo Extended Play
Engine temp & Transmission temp shows above gauges (8" Clusters only)
IPC Quick Boot (No Ford animation shows on cluster)
quick boot with engine &trans temp
DRL - Parking Lights only (stock LEDs only)

besides they have to prove a forscan change was directly responsible for a failure.

also this list includes the drl as parking lights. i did that for another owner. i don't need drl.

Is this hard to do? Do I need to buy special equipment?

Raptor aura is enough to intimidate most would be thieves. AFAIK, there are only 2 lock config options - remote lock/unlock and I forget the other. The former unlocks all doors when you unlock the front door by sensor, the latter unlocks all doors when you open the front door - both can be suppressed via menu.

If you have suspicions you didn’t lock the truck OR you may have inadvertently unlocked the truck with the somewhat portly remote, you can send a lock command via Ford Pass. The new remotes have a surprisingly long range.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F0GVBWY/?tag=fordraptorforum-20 easy usb to obd2. remember to install the drivers from the paper that comes with the elm

also forscan with an extended licence in a windows laptop.

so easy to me i did a truck via teamviewer with the owner turning the truck off and on and clicking ok.

couple of tips
save a back up of the as built for each module u change.
double and triple check before writing a module.

and not all forscan changes are for our trucks.

secure idle makes it lock into park so it cannot be moved without the key
