The Absolute Guide to Purchase a Ford SVT Raptor (Gen1)

I saw an installation video of that suspension "mod" from cj offroad.... It looks like a lot of effort, time, & money to make it taller; without actually improving anything.

The Absolute Guide to Purchase a Ford SVT Raptor (Gen1)

How does it work, is it a body lift, or the deal where they drop the lower arm and replace the spindle, and just another block under the leaf springs?

GEN 1 2014 Roush Raptor, KHC 5 Link

This is a Currie Gen 1 Raptor-spec axle, (without the Wilwood brakes, or sales tax, or shipping). Yikes

GEN 1 2014 Roush Raptor, KHC 5 Link

My bad. Didn't realize you bought an entire Currie axle to make this work. No wonder it's $20K! I priced one with all the cool stuff at north of $10K for a complete axle

So its a bolt-on kit, and it requires you to weld the truss to your axle. What's the deal with the R&P cover? Is it still accessible from on top? Is that a drain hole on the KHC skidplate?

Elevate Leaf vs icon vs deavers

The suspension droop isn't controlled by the shock length. At least it shouldn't be. If you just swap out your spring pack for Deavers, Icons, etc, you're not required to replace & relocate your shocks to use them, the same as if you swap out your factory coilovers for any "bolt on" units.

GEN 1 2014 Roush Raptor, KHC 5 Link

How come that KHC 5-link isn't on their website? There's a hint of a Gen 2 linked suspension, but as usual, no real suspension travel numbers, or photos.

Elevate Leaf vs icon vs deavers

How come that advertising doesn't mention how much suspension travel you will gain?

37" tires on Gen 1 w/ ICON stage 4, will they rub off-road?

This is the stock suspension with the coilover, swaybar, and tie rod removed. That 37" bfg will scrub at full compression.

Which motor? How old are the shocks? Record of oil change/service/repairs? Where did it live? Did a teenager or an angry woman ever drive it? Sunroof? Rust? That's a smokin' deal though.

    Axel spring perch not Flat?

What in the me th? I've never seen anything like that before. Looks like everything would have seized up & damaged/destroyed the entire axle housing. And the previous owner reused that case?

Show the difference in registration fees, insurance premiums, and parts costs between the 2 different generations. Or, the projected depreciation rate between a 10yo raptor and a newer version. If facts don't work, try feelings instead: stomp your feet, scream, and roll around on the ground...

New Leveling Option - SDI Upper Mount

Yup. That's exactly my plan. KHC buckets, 2017 Gen 2 shocks & springs, (with those SVC coil adjusters set to "stock" height), the SDI top hat, and the extended angle axles. Oh, and money. lots and lots of money.

If you later swap out the SUA for a 4-Link, will those bump stop mounts need to be relocated?
